AFRICAN STUDENTS DAY

Connect | Learn | Act

The African Diaspora consists of over 200 million people of African descent living outside Africa, with 6.2 million in France and over a million in Germany. As a youth-led African Diaspora organization, we believe that changing Africa's negative image requires a change in the way development cooperation between Europe and Africa takes place. This involves leveraging the potential of young people in the African Diaspora as a bridge for impactful change, as they understand the continent's challenges and context and are eager to contribute to positive transformation.

For this reason, we have launched the African Students Day (ASD), a unique day which targets students, trainees, young professionals as well as aspiring trainees and/or aspiring students in Europe who all identify as being of African descent and who are deeply passionate about creating impact on their home continent. The event brings together voices from within the African Diaspora to be visible and to engage in meaningful discussions about the impact that young people from the African Diaspora in Europe can create in their home countries in Africa.

The African Students Day has the following objectives:

Connect

Dedicated to students, trainees, and young professionals of the African diaspora, it highlights their contributions to the European landscape, offers networking opportunities, and fosters a supportive community to enhance belonging and collaboration.

Learn

Through interactive panel discussions on the African diaspora's role in the advancement and growth of Africa, a forum for thought-provoking dialogue, enabling participants to gain insights and engage in meaningful conversations about impacting their home countries is created.

Act

By showcasing our projects implemented by students in African countries, we aim to inspire participants not only to engage in voluntary work but also to exploit collective effort to initiate positive change in their home countries.

It is our organization's core belief that the African youth- on the continent or in the diaspora - has the potential to make a difference. The African Students Day is a movement towards recognizing, uniting, and empowering African students, trainees, and young professionals in Europe. We at 3 E’s 4 Africa are dedicated to making this day a memorable community experience, one that resonates with every participant and inspires them to be agents of positive change.
